The American Heart Association recommends limiting added sugars to six teaspoons (or 24 grams) daily for women, nine teaspoons (or 36 grams) for men. Sometimes a food we think is healthy has loads of sugar hidden in it. Many food products advertised as being low in fat make up for the loss in flavor that fat provides with added sugar.
